CHICKEN OF THE WOODS
Being one of the most prolific fungi in the warmer seasons, we see Laetiporus sulphureus or Laetiporus cincinnatus on almost every hike we take in the summer through fall. Chicken’s season usually begins locally in the early spring as the trees are filling out with green and the forest floor begins to warm.
